walking the beach
teasing the waves
erasing my footprints
soon as i lift my feet
pick a stone; let it glide
failed to cross the other side

i hear children playing
so i stop what i'm doing
go closer to where they are
they are having fun so far
they play wih total abandon
they have a world of their own
